2023 IMPACT REPORT
Nurturing Nonprofits Through Growth and Connection
A Letter from our Leadership
Building a solid foundation for Nonprofit Support Network and honing in on our mission to support the nonprofit sector in Muncie and Delaware County has been an empowering journey. Each of our accomplishments – and obstacles – were tempered with the understanding that each experience was a step towards a larger goal. We are invigorated by this work, and we’re focused on not losing sight of the broader mission that drives us forward – you.
Whether your nonprofit organization is a century old or just getting started, we believe that you should have access to the tools, resources, and connections necessary for success. Over the course of 2023, we have demonstrated our dedication to empowering every nonprofit, regardless of its size or tenure, by expanding our range of services and strengthening our partnerships. We provided essential skills to emerging nonprofits and guided established organizations through strategic growth. We prioritized offering comprehensive support tailored to diverse needs.
None of our accomplishments would have been possible without the generous support and resources provided by our community. Contributions from individuals and institutions have been key in driving our efforts forward. We deeply appreciate the trust that has been placed in us to support the important work being done in our community. The work showcased in this impact report is because of you.

Key Programs
Nonprofit Summit
The Nonprofit Summit was a highlight of 2023, bringing together passionate individuals and organizations committed to making a difference. Our keynote speaker, Suzanne Smith, CEO & Founder of Social Impact Architects, delivered an address on the essence of being an entrepreneur in the social space. The summit featured engaging discussions, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities that sparked new ideas and collaborations.
CORE Fundraising
The CORE Fundraising Training Program provides nonprofit leaders with a dynamic and supportive environment to enhance their fundraising skills. Participants have found the program transformative, gaining confidence and practical skills. 93% of participants found this programming very valuable or higher for their organization’s fundraising developments.
Network Huddles
In 2023, we fostered collaboration among nonprofits. We did this through Network Huddles, which connected professionals for peer learning. Adding the Community Food Service, Board Leader, and Executive Director Huddles improved our participants' experiences. We tailored these to the specific needs of key roles within nonprofit organizations. This enhanced their capacity to fulfill their missions well.
Nonprofit Essentials
In 2023, we continued to collaborate with Shafer Leadership Academy for Nonprofit Essentials. We enhanced the development of the individuals who serve our local nonprofits. This series of learning sessions raised awareness across key topics. Topics included nonprofit management, developing key nonprofit skills, and open discussion. These sessions empowered nonprofits to achieve their missions effectively.
Out of the 139 people who attended all our programs, 62 returned at least once, and 36 returned at least twice.

Where We’re Headed
In year three, we will strive to strengthen our collaborations with partners in service to the nonprofits. We are committed to maintaining our current initiatives and deepening the quality of resources.
We’re excited by the potential to meet the HR needs of the nonprofits serving our community and continue exploring shared services. Through our advocacy, we will amplify the voices of nonprofits and champion their missions to ensure a thriving sector.
We owe special recognition to Ellie Parkison, Program Assistant, who spent a full year interning with Nonprofit Support Network before joining our team as our second staff member. We’re excited to watch her grow and flourish with the organization.
