This session helps nonprofit professionals learn about, and differentiate between, process, outcome, and impact evaluation. The session will begin with a brief overview of basic evaluation concepts and terminology to ensure a solid foundation. Participants will learn how to assess program implementation, measure outcomes, and evaluate long-term impacts. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the data they are currently collecting and using within their own organizations, with the aim of improving coverage and increasing efficiency.

About the Facilitator:
Mindy Hightower King is the owner and President of Limelight Analytics, LLC, an evaluation and measurement firm in Bloomington, Indiana. Dr. King is also an adjunct faculty member in the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University, Bloomington. She has worked as a program evaluator for 25 years, with a focus on assessing the implementation and outcomes of education programs, literacy interventions, early childhood education environments, and healthy community initiatives. Dr. King has led statewide evaluations of federal education grants for afterschool programs, charter schools, and instructional development projects. In addition, she has worked closely with foundations and statewide organizations to build evaluation capacity among non-profit organizations. Dr. King currently directs a portfolio of more than 30 statewide and local evaluation projects for governmental agencies, schools, and foundations. Dr. King earned her B.A. in psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles and her Ph.D. in Health Psychology from the University of California, Irvine.
