Nurturing Growth and Empowering Change: Nonprofit Support Network's Impact on Muncie OUTreach

In 2012, Laura Janney founded Muncie OUTreach, as a way to love and support her son and to provide an accepting environment to enhance the personal growth of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth in the Delaware County area.

As the founder and current executive director, Laura has fostered the growth and impact of the organization through a strong network of volunteers and supporters. Since its inception, Muncie OUTreach has grown significantly, but Laura faced challenges with marketing and fundraising, two daunting activities for her since her plate is always full from her continuous giving and compassion for children and young adults.

Like many in the nonprofit sector, Laura recognizes the isolation and exhaustion that accompanies the endless work of serving others, and when she connected with Nonprofit Support Network, she finally felt like she had found some help.

“Carly saw where we needed assistance and connected us with a communications and marketing agency that helped with the implementation of a marketing grant from The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County. Carly has been a huge support for us; if she doesn’t know an answer right away, she is quick to go find one. She has been like a saving grace at times.”
— Laura Janney

Despite the always-changing challenges Laura faces, she knows she can depend on Nonprofit Support Network to offer support and provide her with answers and resources that, otherwise, she could not find on her own. Carly’s personal and professional relationships with nonprofit professionals in Muncie have driven success within the organizations. Her experience has led her to help others succeed, but more importantly, her love for the nonprofit sector and desire to see everyone around her succeed is what sets Nonprofit Support Network apart. It has bridged a gap in this sector, and those involved can attest to its success and ability to help drive the community forward for a better tomorrow.
